Safety Harbor, Florida -- A man robbed a Bank of America branch late Friday afternoon and forced a driver to take him out of the area being searched by deputies, the sheriff's office said.

The driver reported he was forced to drive through the search perimeter and was not hurt. His name was not released because, deputies said, the suspect knows where he lives.

The robber was possibly dressed as a woman, wearing a wig and a long purple sweater over black stretch pants, when he robbed the Bank of America branch at 2551 Tarpon Woods Blvd. around 4 p.m.

He's described as a black male, about 5'10" tall and 175 lbs. He implied he had a gun during the robbery but none was shown.

No one at the bank was hurt, deputies said.
